Stained Glass Hearts
These hearts are quick and easy to make and they are great for younger children because you can't mess it up. You can hang them up in a window, dangle them from a ceiling, or make a bunch of them and create a mobile.
What You'll Need:
- Tissue paper (red, pink, white or any other color you want)
- 2 Sheets contact paper
- Scissors
What to Do:
1. Tear the tissue paper into pieces. The pieces should be about an inch or less for best results.
2. Take the paper backing off of one sheet of contact paper, exposing the sticky side. Lay it sticky side up on the table and randomly place the torn pieces of tissue paper.
3. When you've covered the surface of the contact paper, remove the backing from the other piece and lay it sticky side down over the tissue paper. Smooth it out to remove the bubbles.
4. Cut out heart shapes.
Variations:
Use the stained glass hearts as part of a Valentine to give Mom or Dad.
Sprinkly glitter on the tissue paper before putting the second piece of contact paper down.
Tape the hearts to a wall or staple to a bulletin board.
Punch a hole in the top and hang in a window.
Punch a hole in the top and hang from the ceiling.
