Presidential Mobile
This is a really easy to do mobile that looks great when it's done. It makes a nice way to honor our most notable presidents on President's Day. I've even included a printable bust of Lincoln and Washington to use for this craft project.
What You'll Need:
- 6 Used CD's
- Red, white, and blue acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Hanger (like a coat hanger)
- Scissors
- Gluestick
- Fishing line
What to Do:
1. Paint two of the CD's with white paint, two with red paint, and two with blue paint. Let dry completely, and then paint the other side of each one with the same color. Let dry completely.
2. Print out the templates of Lincoln and Washington below. You'll need 6 copies of each for this project.
3. Cut out all the pictures from step 2 above.
4. Cut a piece of fishing line that's about 18 inches long. Loop one end through the center of the CD and around the bottom of the hanger. Tie it off with a triple knot. This will hang the CD off of the hanger. Do the same with the other CD's that you've painted. Vary the lengths of the fishing line to make the CD's hang randomly from the hanger.
5. Use the gluestick to put glue on the back of one of your cut out presidents and them stick him to the center of one of the CD's. Glue a matching president on the back of that CD. Do the same for the other CD's until each CD is adorned with a president on the front and back.
6. Hang your creation in a place where the CD's can hang loosely.
