Kid Valentine's Day Craft Ideas

You'll find some great Kid Valentine's Day craft ideas on this page to really help children of all ages explore the holiday and make it really special.

Valentine's Day Craft Ideas

  • Stuffed Hearts - These little stuffed hearts are a nifty little Valentine craft. Kids love them, you can make them simple or more complicated, they are made out of recycled materials, and they are just plain fun.

  • Rolling Art Heart - Younger children will have a ball making these little hearts and they will be very proud to give them to Mommy on Valentine's Day. It's also a good lesson in cause and effect and "what would happen if..."

  • Silly Heart Head - You're sure to get a big smile and a lot of silly behavior when you finish these little headbands. Kids just can't help but act silly when they slip one of these on... Then they look at themselves in the mirror and see how silly these headbands really are.

  • Stained Glass Hearts - These hearts are quick and easy to make and they are great for younger children because you can't mess it up. You can hang them up in a window, dangle them from a ceiling, or make a bunch of them and create a mobile.

  • Colorful Be Mine - A colorful and fun way to ask your special Valentine to be yours. This is a fun project for younger and older children alike because it allows them to combine colors and paint any kind of shapes they want.

  • Heart Man - You're bound to get a lot of giggles when you make a heart man! This is one of my favorite projects and we still make them each year.

  • Valentine Fashion Necklace - This cute little necklace is a big hit with younger children. My own little ham, who is two, hasn't hardly taken it off since she made it... Except when she eats dinner. She likes it so much that she doesn't want to get any food on it. If that's not an endorsement from a two year old, then I don't know what is!

  • Random Paint Heart - Fold a large piece of construction paper in half and cut out half a heart. Open the heart and have the child randomly squirt paint onto one side of the heart. When they are done, fold the heart back in half and rub it so that the paint touches the other side of the heart. Open the heart and admire your design. Let dry completely.

  • Lollipop Mice - The inspiration for this craft came from a craft book many years ago, and I created a template for Lollipop Mice here.

Print the template out onto heavy colored construction paper (reds, purples, and pinks) and cut them out. Punch holes in the nose where indicated. Thread a 3-4 inch length pipe cleaner through the top two holes to form whiskers. Do the same with the bottom two holes. Slip a lollipop down through the loops provided by the pipe cleaners.

  • Valentine Headband - Cut a strip of pink construction paper about 2 inches wide, fit it around your child's head to make the headband, and staple together. Next, cut several hearts of different sizes and colors ranging from about 4 inches across to 1 inch across. Glue the hearts onto the headband randomly until the headband is completely covered. Decorate the headband with glitter, sequins, stickers, markers, etc. Now you have a beautiful Valentine's Day headband.

You can turn that knowledge into a profitable internet business.

    That's what I did with children's crafts and here's what I used!
