Easter Mosaic Eggs

This is a quick and easy craft project that you can pull off on the spur of the moment without any preparation. It also serves to give those little hands a little cutting practice... something they could always use.

What You'll Need:

  • Sheet of Black Construction Paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or chalk
  • Old Magazines, catalogs, junk mail, etc.

What to Do:

1. Draw a large egg shape in the middle of the black construction paper with a pencil or a piece of chalk.

2. Give the child several colorful pages out of a magazine, catalog, or some other junk mailing you have laying around. Instruct them to cut squares out of the magazine pages. They should cut out a bunch of squares.

3. Then have them arrange and glue the squares of paper onto the egg, filling it in. When we made ours, we left spaces between the squares so that kind of looked like stained glass, but very young children won't get that concept. They'll just enjoy gluing and cutting!
