Feathered Bird - Kids absolutely love working with feathers! Print out or draw a picture of a bird onto construction paper. Spread glue onto the bird. Glue assorted feathers onto the bird.

paper plate birdTropical Paper Plate Bird - Paint the back side of a paper plate any color you want and let dry. Cut feather shapes out of various colors of construction paper. Cut a circle out of black construction paper for an eye and an orange triangle for a beak. Fold the paper plate in half and staple on the edge opposite the fold. Put the triangle in the fold of the plate on one edge and staple in place to make the beak. Glue on eye. Glue on construction paper feather shapes where the wings should be. Cut a few strips of tissue paper, streamers, etc. to make the tail. They should be a variety of lengths and about 1-2 inches wide. Gather them up at one end and put them in the fold of the plate opposite the beak and staple in place.

Tissue Paper Bird - Cut out simple bird silhouette shape from card. Give children box of coloured craft feathers to stick onto bird shape. Another good way to teach colours. ~ Submitted Anonymously

Toilet Paper Roll Birdfeeders - You'll need a toilet paper roll, bird seed, peanut butter, a hole punch, and string or yarn. Use hole punch to make a couple of holes for the hanger in one end of the toilet paper tube. Paint the toilet paper roll with peanut butter and then roll it in the bird seed. Feed the string or yarn through the holes in the tube and hang it up to watch the birds chow down. It was great, we had blue jays, robins, wood peckers, and other come have lunch with us. ~ Submitted by Melissa

Bird's Nest - Melt butterscotch, peanut butter, or chocolate chips in the microwave. Put a few chow mein noodles in each section of a muffin tin. Pour melted chips over noodles. Let cool. You can put jelly beans in for the eggs after your nests have cooled. Pop them out of the muffin tin and serve.
