Bead Candy Cane

This is a really easy ornament to make, but it looks like it took more work. These are great ornaments to attach to presents or gift bags too!

What You'll Need:

  • 6 inch white pipe cleaner ( or half of a 12 inch pipe cleaner)
  • 17 clear tri-beads (you can also use white beads)
  • 16 Red tri-beads (solid or translucent)
  • Wire cutters or strong scissors

What to Do:

1. Cut the pipe cleaner in half if you're starting with a whole one.

2. Double one end of the pipe cleaner over on itself about a quarter of an inch from the end so that the beads will stay on. This also keeps anyone from getting poked by the wire.

3. Put the first clear bead on the pipe cleaners and push it all the way to the folded end.

4. Next put on a red bead so that it interlocks with the clear bead. Continue feeding on the beads alternating clear and red. (You can also put on two beads at a time alternating between colors to create a little different look.)

5. Once you get the last bead on, bend the end of the pipe cleaner and tuck the sharp end down into the last bead.

6. Bend your candy cane into the correct hook shape and hang it on the tree!
